According to the Florida Death Index found on FamilySearch.org or Ancestry.com Pete died March 2, 1971 in Hillsborough County, Florida. He went to Miami Dade Junior College for about a year, then transferred to USF in Tampa. As Jeff mentioned he died in a traffic accident in Tampa at the time he was going to USF. I was told at the time that the accident was with a police cruiser.

Pete died in 1969 in a car accident at USF in Tampa. We had just gotten there for registration when it happened.

I don’ believe he died in 1969. He became a police officer after graduation and I Romberg seeing him in Miami.
